TReDS Guarantee Goes Live: Which MSME Invoices Qualify in 2026?
A new guarantee facility can widen access to invoice finance, but it does not cover every invoice on TReDS. The first eligibility question is about both parties to the transaction, not merely whether the seller has an Udyam number.

The Ministry of MSME announced CGTMSE integration with M1xchange, RXIL and DTX (KredX) on 25 September 2026. Under this special provision, both buyer and seller must be micro or small enterprises. The stated cover is 75% of the amount in default, with revolving exposure ceilings of ₹10 crore per MSE buyer and ₹2 crore per MSE seller. Those are scheme parameters, not a promise that your invoice will attract a bid. A sale to a large corporate may still fit ordinary TReDS, while falling outside this particular MSE-to-MSE guarantee provision. ## Prepare an invoice-level screening sheet List each buyer's legal name, enterprise classification, invoice value, due date, acceptance status and any existing financing. Then ask the platform or financier to confirm the invoice's eligibility and the all-in discounting cost. For example, a component supplier selling to two different buyers should not assume both receivables have identical funding prospects. One buyer may qualify for the special cover; the other may require ordinary buyer-risk assessment. Separating them prevents an unrealistic cash forecast. ## What to ask before accepting a bid - How much cash will reach the business after all charges? - Which party bears the guarantee-related fee? - Has the buyer accepted the obligation and payment date? - How will this receivable be removed from any existing drawing-power calculation? Treat a financed invoice as one funding event. Keeping the same receivable in another borrowing calculation can distort the lender's security position. The practical objective is reliable cash against an eligible, accepted sale—not merely registration on a platform. #TReDS #InvoiceFinance #MSMEFinance #MoneiMatters ## Connect with Monei Matters Discuss your buyer list and invoice-financing needs with Monei Matters.
